Munnar

Munnar, nestled in the Western Ghats, is Kerala’s premier hill station famed for its sprawling tea plantations, mist-covered valleys, and cool mountain air. At an altitude of 1,600 meters, it offers a refreshing escape from the lowland heat. The landscape is dotted with colonial-era bungalows, tea estates like Kolukkumalai (the world’s highest), and Eravikulam National Park—home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and the rare Neelakurinji flower that blooms every 12 years. Anamudi Peak, South India’s tallest mountain, rises nearby. Munnar is also known for its tea museum, waterfalls like Attukad, and serene boating spots such as Kundala Lake.
